Alessandra Barzaghi has been an independent Director of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. since May 2020, where she is currently also Chairperson of the Risk and Sustainability Committee as well as a member of the Related Party Transactions Committee.
Having graduated in Political Economics from the Luigi Bocconi University (Milan), she initially analysed financial systems in collaboration with Universities and research centres.
She gained professional experience at Borsa Italiana and, before that, at the Stock Exchange Council, where she also held positions of responsibility, which included Head of the Regulatory Office.
Subsequently, she became Head of Compliance/Audit of Banca Akros and its subsidiaries and continued as Head of Audit until 2015 and then as Link Auditor until 2018.
