BMPS: European Commission approves the 2017-2021 restructuring plan

Milano, 5 July 2017 – On 4 July 2017, the European Commission announced the approval of the 2017-2021 Restructuring Plan (the “Restructuring Plan”) of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena (“BMPS” or the “Bank”), in order to allow the precautionary recapitalisation according to Italian Law Decree No. 237/2016, as subsequently converted and amended (the “Precautionary Recapitalisation” and “Decree 237”) of the Bank according to European Union (“EU”) regulations.
