BMPS restructuring plan

With regard to the press release issued by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and related press reports, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena confirms that its restructuring plan, drafted as per the guidelines agreed upon with the European Commission, is in course of finalisation in coordination with the MEF and the Bank of Italy.

As at today, the Bank's Board of Directors is expected to start discussion on the guidelines of the Restructuring Plan as early as at its next meeting, scheduled for 11 September, so that the Plan may be submitted to the Board for approval on 24 September 2013. Further to the approval, the Restructuring Plan will be submitted to the Ministry of Economy and Finance for subsequent transmission to the European Union.
