David Manuel Martinez has resigned from the Board of Directors of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena

Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A ("BMPS" or the "Bank") informs that Mr. Martinez has communicated his resignation from the Board of Directors of the Bank.

Mr. Martinez believes the level of commitment required in order to actively participate in a constructive manner in the work conducted by the Board is no longer sustainable in light of his executive role at Fintech, and took this opportunity to express his thanks and appreciation for the work carried out by the Board in pursuing BMPS’ restructuring process.

Following such resignation, BMPS has already initiated the process aimed at selecting a candidate with the relevant knowledge, skills and experience in the banking sector to replace Mr. Martinez and expects that this process will be completed by the next Board of Directors meeting to be held on the 4th of March
