Siena, 31st July 2026 - Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.a. (“BMPS”) acknowledges the considerations of Crédit Agricole in connection with its presentation of semiannual financial results and the subsequent position expressed by the board of directors of Banco BPM that, without prejudice for the strong strategic and industrial rationale of the project set forth in the letter dated 7 June 2026, resolved to interrupt the consultations, considered by BMPS aimed for a successive negotiation phase.

BMPS remains focused on the implementation of its business plan and on the integration with Mediobanca continuing to evaluate any strategic option in the interest of its stakeholders.
