Raffaele Di Raimo
Director pursuant to By-Laws (Consolidated Law on Finance and Corporate Governance Code)
Degree in Law from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. PhD from the University of Naples 'Federico II'.
Since 2001, he has been Full Professor of Private Law and Professor of Financial Market Law at the University of Salento. He taught Commercial Law and European Commercial Law at a number of universities for several years. Previously he was a Researcher of Commercial Law (1997) and Associate Professor of Private Law (1999).
Between 2015 and 2018, he served as Director of the ISUFI Graduate School and has coordinated numerous research projects. He is author of more than 140 publications, many of them on topics related to economic law, company law and contracts, banking and financial contracts. Since 2006, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Civil Law Scholars and coordinator of the 'Economy Law' Commission. He is co-editor of several Editorial series and journals - including 'Rivista di Diritto Bancario' and 'Diritto del mercato assicurativo e finanziario' - as well as a member of the Editorial Board Scientifc Committee of journals, including 'Giustizia civile', 'Rivista di diritto commerciale e delle obbligazioni', 'Contratto e Impresa Europa', 'Rivista di diritto dell'impresa' and ‘Osservatorio del Diritto Civile e Commerciale’. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the ‘Trattato di Diritto civile del Consiglio Nazionale del Notariato’.
From 2016 to 2020, he was a Member of the Arbitrator for Financial Disputes (ACF) established by CONSOB.
From 2016 to 2018, he was a Member of the Technical Commission established at the Superior Council of the Magistracy for the evaluation of the "scientific capacity and analysis of rules" of ordinary judges as well as the selection of members of the Supreme Court for "outstanding merits" under Article 106 of the Constitution.
He has been a registered Arbitrator with the Arbitration Panel for public contracts set up by ANAC (National Authority for Anti-Corruption).
A lawyer, specialised in Contract Law, particularly Banking and Financial Contract Law, Corporate and Enterprise Law, he is currently Of Counsel to the law firm DDPV, where he acts as Legal Advisor in these fields and serves as a member of the Arbitrations Board.
He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Banking Association since July 2022.
He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. since 18 May 2020 and is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and member of the Risk and Sustainability Committee.
