Rosella Castellano

Rosella Castellano has been an independent director of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. since May 2020, where she is also a member of the Risk and Sustainability Committee and the Appointments Committee.
She graduated in Political Science (Economics) from "Sapienza" University of Rome and attended the Postgraduate School in "Banking and Securities Market Policy and Legislation" at the same University. She holds a PhD in Mathematics for the Analysis of Financial Markets from the University of Brescia and was a Visiting Scholar at the Decision Sciences Dept. of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Since 2017, she has been Full Professor of Mathematical Methods in Economics and Actuarial and Financial Sciences at the University of Rome UnitelmaSapienza, where she is Head of the Department of Law and Economics. Previously, until 2016, she was Associate Professor and Researcher at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Macerata.
Between 2000 and 2005 she was Officer at the Research Department of the Presidency of the Councils of Ministers of the Italian Government.
Her professional experience also includes various professional assignments as Technical Consultant and Project Coordinator on financial issues in both institutional and academic fields.
